Dreary and Silent

Window panes murmured with the thunder,

Curtains whispered with the wind,

Corners weakened and leaked,

Lightning struck a glimmer in the dark,

Pavements softened by the rain,

Mud trapped, memories shut,

Dark, dreary and silent,

The evening consumed the familiar melancholy.
